OOC STUFF
ok fellas, here's the situation:
- you've been trapped in the shitty valley of barovia by a megalomaniac vampire who is obsessed with one of his subjects (read more here or honestly just ask me if you want more info)
- the megalomaniac likes to play with his food
- so do the powers that be here
- the gods cannot help you
- your gods can't even contact you
- you're not getting out any time soon (the mists are poisonous and will kill you)
- (maybe) you have a modern character that you now have to establish a full dnd/fantasy au for
- what does your character do in this situation
use this post to give people a jumping off point for that, and also to get to know each other/plot stuff maybe

Nepione
Very adamantly devoted to Selûne, Nepione is a somewhat sheltered and naive life domain cleric who tends to think the best of everyone and wants to think the best of everyone, sometimes at the cost of what would be considered wise (the irony here is not lost on me - apparently this was a saving throw she lost). Her optimism can be frustrating to deal with as she is more likely to take the path where brutal force is not necessary. She's a diplomat first, but a capable combatant when it's required of her.
She forms attachments to others with relative ease and wants to express Selûne's doctrine in her own definitions of love, mercy, acceptance, and tolerance that she extends to all (even Sharrans, which directly contrasts with what Selûnites generally practise).
Nepione possesses a lot of insecurity about her physical self as a tiefling due to treatment of her kind in general, personal experiences she's had, and the past history of tiefling discrimination. As a result, she tends to view herself as someone with lesser value than those around her.
Separated from her family in her youth, Nepione's original goal was to reunite with them, somehow getting somewhat sidetracked when she began to serve Selûne and eventually she became a wandering cleric who wanted to spread her ideals (read: Selûne's ideals). She can be incredibly self-sacrificing and tends to think about everyone else first and herself after, if herself at all. She believes her time to be grossly finite and as a result is driven to live a life of few (or no) regrets, making her, at times, somewhat reckless and not necessarily the most rational.
BG3 Flavour
Core concepts are the same as the above—
As Tav, she really just wanted the best outcomes for her camp companions and really had zero desire to be leader and doesn't exhibit any kind of leadership qualities. Sort of a case where she was put in a position, she didn't really want to be in, didn't want to become the hero of Baldur's Gate, and really probably just wanted to continue doing what she was doing before she got wrapped up in that mess. (But likely felt like she couldn't ever say no, so ended up doing every single sidequest and playing errand girl.)
As Dark Urge, much the same as above, she was more inclined to fight the corruption intending to overtake her and ultimately refused to accept power. (Everything else can be largely applied as the same.)
Blah-blah. Selfless cleric loves everyone but doesn't know how to love herself and is painfully awkward when people start trying to share with her the same kindness.

I would love to toss Reilani at Nepione; their personalities and goals would be very compatible even while representing different faiths and having different talents, and I know them both to be low INT modifier wonders, which I love for us. Both of these young ladies could benefit from some good solid friendship. Also, Barovia is so cursed, we need as many different kinds of clerics as we can get, I feel like.

I don't have more that I can bury you in because you've already said it all for me, but I'm sure between the two of them they can spread some blessings and not let things seem as bleak as they probably actually are.
